APrIR First-time Speaker Scholarship: 2013 FAAPI Conference

APrIR awards this scholarship to encourage teachers who are first-time speakers to participate in a FAAPI Annual Conference. 

APrIR will grant one scholarship for the 2013 FAAPI Conference, consisting in $1200 to apply to the registration fee and contribute to travelling expenses.


● to be a first-time speaker at a FAAPI Conference

● to be a fully paid-up Member of APrIR, with at least one year as a Member

● to submit an application (backed by the FAAPI Conference Academic Committee acceptance of their proposal) by 31 July 2013.

To be considered for the scholarship, please send the following in electronic format to by 31 July 2013 (Subject: 'Your Name - APrIR First-time Speaker Scholarship'):

● a completed speaker proposal and registration form (including biodata and presentation abstract), as submitted to the FAAPI Conference Academic Committee (see 2013 Conference website )

● acceptance of this proposal

● your CV (please include teaching experience and academic presentations, if applicable)

● a passport size-type digital photograph

● a brief explanation of why you are applying and why you think you should be granted the scholarship (about 150 words)

A decision will be made by the Executive Committee by 31 August 2013. The winner will be notified by APrIR and he/she will then be required: 

At the Conference:

● to attend the meeting of FAAPI Associations together with the representative of the APrIR Executive Committee, in a bid to encourage APrIR Members to actively participate in institutional matters (subject to authorisation of FAAPI) .

After the Conference (by 15 October 2013)

● to send a 250-word report on the experience at the Conference for publication in the APrIR Newsletter and website.

● to deliver his/her presentation in Rosario including a summary of the sessions s/he attended and his/her personal reflections.
